Last week we communicated about the recent Executive Order that requires federal contractors to comply with COVID-19 guidance including that covered employees of federal contractors be fully vaccinated by December 8, 2021.
The University is working to determine which employees will fall under the requirement to be vaccinated and will notify those employees in the coming weeks. Notifications will be made on a rolling basis as we identify covered individuals. Please monitor your email to see if you are affected.
For those employees identified, you will need to submit proof of vaccination through a secure upload process or apply for a religious or medical exemption through the Human Resources Office. These processes and procedures are still being developed and will be communicated as soon as possible.
If you think you meet the definition of a covered contractor employee, you do not need to wait for notification from Georgia State. If you are not already vaccinated, you may schedule your vaccine appointment.
Georgia State offers the COVID-19 vaccine for free to any eligible member of the university community. You may register here: https://gsu.medicatconnect.com/, call the clinic at 404-413-1930 or email COVIDvaccine@gsu.edu.
You likely have many questions about this Executive Order. Please check out the Frequently Asked Questions section of the covidinfo.gsu.edu site. You may also contact Human Resources at email@example.com.
We understand that the requirements of this Executive Order are confusing and create uncertainty. We ask for your continued patience and understanding. Considering the tight timeline and procedures that still need to be developed, we will do our best to comply with this Executive Order.
