As we finish the fall semester and begin to prepare for the winter break, we want to thank the entire Georgia State community for your vigilance around COVID-19 this fall. Thank you for taking safety measures, getting vaccinated and wearing masks indoors. With your help, we have continued to consistently lower the university’s positivity rate and have continued to take care of each other.
We urge you to get vaccinated if you have not already done so, get your booster shot if needed and continue to test to protect yourself and others. In January, we will continue to offer the vaccine to our campus community. In addition, we will continue to offer Covid-19 testing on each of our campuses. Information about testing and vaccine availability is located on the Covid-19 resource page and is updated regularly.
As of January, we will move case investigation to the Fulton County health department, who will follow up on Georgia State cases.
The Office of the Dean of Students will continue to provide courtesy Professor Absence Notifications upon request for any students seeking an excused absence related to documented medical/health or emergency situations. This process helps protect confidential documents, while providing additional support for students and professors. Final decisions regarding absences and coursework/exam management are still determined by each individual professor following any established institutional/college/departmental guidelines. For more information and to access the request form, visit: https://deanofstudents.gsu.edu/student-assistance/#professor.
Thank you again for protecting the Georgia State community.
